Dogs wait are vaccinated at Zoonosis Center. It is estimated that only the urban area of Santa Cruz has 460,000 dogs - 90,000 of them living stray in the streets. Rabies has always been endemic in Bolivia, but since 2005 it turned into an epidemic.
